Bajaj Avenger 220 Street Discontinued
Bajaj Avenger 220 Street has been phased out from the Indian market as the company won't upgrade it to BS6 emission levels. With the departure of this motorcycle, the company will have only two Avenger models in the form of Avenger 160 Street and the Avenger 220 Cruise, both of whom are already BS6 compliant. Bajaj's official website no longer shows several BS4 models including the Avenger 220 Street while all the new BS6 models have been listed on it. It was also speculated in March that the production of the motorcycle has been stopped with no stock delivered to the dealers.
Bajaj Avenger 220 Street wasn't doing good enough in the Indian market as the sales numbers show and that is probably one of the biggest reasons why the company thought it was wiser to discontinue it. The entry-level Avenger 160, on the contrary, is quite popular among the masses and rakes in decent numbers. So in the 220cc segment, the Avenger range will only have the 'Cruiser' variant. Speaking of 220 Street, it is offered in black paint scheme with red highlights on the tank and side panels. Riding on black colored alloy wheels, it features a long single-seat, foot pegs, single handle bar and silver colored exhaust pipe. It was liked predominantly for comfortable riding ergonomics.
